I like just about every genre to some degree. The books with pride of place on the special shelf of the bookcase are: The Fountainhead and Atlas Shrugged, all the books I own by Tolkien, The Chronicles of Narnia, the Harry Potter series, Little Women, The True Confessions of Charlotte Doyle, Ender's Game and Ender's Shadow, Timeline and The Andromeda Strain, Gathering Blue, The Lovely Bones, Red Moon and Black Mountain, Great Expectations and A Tale of Two Cities, The Count of Monte Cristo, Stepping on the Cracks and Wait till Helen Comes, and The Once and Future King. Books that should be up there but didn't fit include Devil in the White City and the Firebird trilogy. And there are some books that will go straight there when I acquire them (such as The Giver).
As you can tell, I mainly like classics and the stuff written for the younger set. I like things that capture my imagination. I also love history (a love surpassed by my husband - he loves history more than anything except me). :-D

I'm 21, in my last year of college, and married to a US soldier. He's in Iraq; I spend the intervening time internetting and reading. :-) I enjoy cooking, having a clean house (but not cleaning it, usually), and learning. Oh, I love learning. I am bipolar; yes, bipolar for real. I am an English major with a Formalist eye, and a psychology minor with a depth of interest in abnormal psychology and counseling.
