Found: Help with a fantasy book title!

All I remember in the book is that a boy (i think) got the train to a city to investigate where a comic book was being manufactured from after hearing rumours about summoning a creature from that comic that will take you into the comic book world and the only way out is to get onto a train you need a ticket for. I keep thinking the title might be mayhem (it was a one word title) and I remember that the cover was orange. Please help!
