TinyCat Signup: Email not validated

To reproduce:
1. go to https://www.librarycat.org/signup
2. continue through signup process with a brand new LT/TC account
3. at https://www.librarycat.org/signup/details, enter an invalid email (e.g. kristi@librarything), finish signup
Bug: The Contact Email field is not getting validated. We need to throw some sort of error that tells the user they need to enter a valid email address (email@domain.com, etc.).
NB: LibraryThing validates email, although it just flashes the email field on and off. IMHO, I would add an error message for accessibility.
