Just found this group, happily. Haven't kept track of what I've read this year... since I'd like a good laugh, I thought I'd become the failure of the group :D At the moment, for about a month and a half, I've been fitting in War and Peace around hectic revision. 200 odd pages to go now..
yay! failure!

so.. 1. War and Peace - Leo Tolstoy

C'est formidable! Amazing, mind-blowing analogies (i.e. the bee hive in I can't remember what book, perhaps 3). I think Anna Karenina is a must after this?

I suppose I'm consoled in my stumbling upon this group now, rapidly approaching '09, as opposed to July! :)

Well, we have a 2009 challenge group...so you don't have to continue to be our failure! 8^}

There are no failures in this group - simply not allowed. If you pick up a book, you have succeeded. We do not really care about how many you read - we enjoy conversing about, arguing about, and recommending good books!

Yep, no one fails here, because it's nice to make a number, but mostly we just talk about books. And frankly, those 1000+ pagers were often printed as several volumes of a book--soooooooooooo.....

>4 Prop2gether: Prop, my copy of War and Peace is in six volumes, so I could definately count them as six books. Ok, the print is about six inches high, but they are separate bound books, so it counts!
