I was so sorry to see this book end! I feel like I have lost several friends. Bruz Tyrrell had me with the first paragraph and held me until the end. This was no 'whodunit' but I found I could not put the book down.

Bruz Tyrrell was 5 when he got his first job-sweeping out the flying school. His family wasn't rich but his family wasn'thurting for money. Then the Depression hit and Bruz's father was injured on the job. In a time before Penicillin was an everyday word, his father's infection never healed and he finally sucumbed. Bruz, wise far beyond his years, became the back bone of the family. keeping everyone going, even when times got...tougher. Luckily he was able to combine his two worlds of childhood and manhood, keeping both feet on the ground. ( )
