I just reread this story to refresh my memory before reading the just released second book "Breathing" in the series and I was reminded what a fantastic story "Enthralled" is. I instantly liked this story when I read it the first time and I´m still amazed why this is the case. There are so many m/m romance stories with vampires out there, but this one was always special to me. But I think this just proves what a fantastic author Laura Baumbach is.

When Colin and vampire Rowland meet by chance, Colin is about to commit suicide and Rowland is on the run from vampire hunters, who were able to hurt him pretty badly, and thus is in desperate need to feed. So it seems that they are both pretty much what the other one was looking for, but things are not always that simple and soon the ancient and powerful vampire, who has killed many people while feeding from them during the centuries of his existence, is desperately trying to keep Colin alive instead of killing him. ( )

Rowland is a vampire. Colin is about to commit suicide. These two will meet, and hot sex may save them both. Very good novella, with just enough back story to make it work. This would make an excellent novel. ( )
