I really enjoyed this book. This book is very different from all of the other styles of books that Carle usually sticks to. I think that my favorite part about this book is that it's going through the alphabet, and each page has many different sounds of the letter that kids get to practice saying. I like this because it shows kids how to say the letter, while giving them the letter for them to look at visually to help them learn them easier. ( )

This book has a fun play on words. While reading the book it was easy to get quite confused because most of the words began with the letter on the page. However, I do like how the book teaches children just how many people, or animals in this case, are out there for them to make friends with. ( )

This book was like no Eric Carle book I have ever seen. It may be because it was one of his early books and he was trying to find his style. All of the illistrations are black. This is another one of his books that tells a story rather than repeating a few lines. This was also unlike any other alphabet book I've every read. For each letter most of the words in the little blurb on the page starts with the letter of the page. I really liked this one. ( )

This story is a fun read for students who are beginning to learn the alphabet. There is much use of alliteration throughout the book. Eric Carle has made it easy for children to relate to learning the letters, by the use of animals. He also uses clever nouns to describe each animal with the same letter. I would read this story to my students when either teaching the alphabet or teaching about alliteration. ( )

This book was pretty useful to me. I loved the way each page was about a letter, I think children could learn the alphabet in a fun way with this book. Arthur is quite the ape, I like the story line behind this book as well as how it educates. My favorite page was about the letter T and the tuscan, I thought this book was adorable. ( )
