Author Brigid Treloar's step-by-step instructions, using only the freshest ingredients and subtle seasonings, make creating dishes such as cucumber and sesame rolls, grilled shiitake sushi, asparagus and sweet red pepper sushi rolls, or soba noodle sushi a breeze. You'll even find recipes for sushi made with brown rice and there are many other recipes for delicious vegetarian food. Whether you experiment with nigiri-zushi topped with vegetables or an omelette, prepare large or small sushi rolls, or try sushi in a bowl, once you make a few of these recipes you may never go out for sushi again. Inside this vegetarian cooking book, you'll find information on equipment and ingredients, tips on how to prepare the rice, and, of course, plenty of delicious recipes, including: Cucumber and Sesame Sushi Rolls Seasoned Tofu Rolls Grilled Shiitake Sushi… (mehr)

Right now I'm not a vegetarian and I do love sushi. But I really hate touching raw fish, and the idea of getting this book was that I could have my cake - or sushi - and eat it. The recipes and pictures are wonderfully inspiring and when I can find all the ingredients (not easy if you don't live in a big city), I will definitely try to make some. ( )

Great cookbook but why on earth would a vegetarian sushi book list bonito flakes under suggested ingredients and call for dashi in many of the recipes? Not totally vegan but more than half of the recipes are vegan or veganizable. ( )
