I honestly feel in love with these poems! The combination of science and facts about nature and poetry is wonderful. This is a new outlook on a traditional science book that works perfectly. The poems are lovely and the facts at the bottom of each page are very informative. This is a large collection of poetry which is impressive by itself let alone the quality of poetry. I would give this my highest recommendation. ( )

This book has a fair balance of classics as well as modern poetry written by the Children's Poet Laureate Mary Ann Hoberman. Useful addition to many science and ecology units.

This book contains a collection of poems all about nature and science, and I can truly say that I enjoyed reading each of them. It features poems by some of the greats including Emily Dickinson, T. S. Eliot, and Robert Frost. Each poem is unique and tells a different story about the beauty of nature. Students would benefit from this book because it describes many aspects of our natural environment and gives them a great first hand look at all types of poetry. ( )
