I could not put down this book until I got to the last page. Jax is such a likeable character even when he is being a shallow, egotistical cad. You just know all that ego is hiding a much deeper, compassionate and complex man. Sydney has her own issues and Jax is just the person to bring her out of her comfort zone. It was such a treat being witness to the highs and lows of their budding relationship. I especially enjoyed the 'epilogue' at the end of the book that related to the theater scene earlier in the book from the point of view of Jax.… (mehr)

Tempting Sydney is a very good story, filled with playful banter, friendship and helping one another discover who they are and helping overcome the past.

I was skeptical about reading this story but I am glad I did. It’s very interesting and entertaining. I love Jax’s character, primarily because I could relate to him being closed off and not letting people in. He’s a very fun person, very caring, even when he didn’t know much about Sydney.

Sydney is an organized and controlled woman. She eats chocolate with fork and knife! Yes, people, it goes to that extreme. But Jax enters this woman’s life and starts “tempting” her to get out of her comfort zone and try new things, to really get herself out there.

The conversations these two characters would have had smiling all the time I would read about them. And don’t even get me started with Brynn. She is my favorite character of this story. I really love her and I hope the second book tells her story because it will be FUN to read.… (mehr)

Eternal Starling was such a unique book. I loved that it dealt with soulmates and the tug between two people that felt they were both Evie's soulmate. The book was a bit slow for me, but I know this is a start of a series, and think It built up the story in a way that it needed to be built. I think book two will be even better because this book really gave us a great introduction to Evie, Alex and Emil (The main characters), and you really got to know their individual stories.

Evie is such a strong female protaginist, and I really enjoyed her character. The love interests are both irresistable, and if I was put in her position I wouldn't know who I would choose, their both so charming in their own rights.

Angela Corbett is an outstanding writer, and her writing style definitely made me want more from her!! I cannot wait for book 2 to see where this story goes next, and which way Evie ends up going in regards to her swoon-worthy love triangle!! If you're in the mood for a great YA read, this one is completely unique!!… (mehr)

I loved that this book had so much to do with fighting for the soul. I love that there is great back round history to all three characters and that there is so much for the reader to take in.

One thing that grabbed me about the story are the characters. I loved that the main characters Evie is out of the loop about things. She may have a past, but she doesn't remember. Ms. Corbett did a great job on giving the pieces to the reader little by little. I like that not all information was dumped on the reader, but paced perfectly.

Now, I admit, I love the love triangle. Masochist, I know. What I really like about it, is the fact that it is one messy ball of drama. It's not overly done drama either, but just enough to keep me on my toes about the two hotties, Emil and Alex. Both characters had an extreme passion for Evie. Both of their history for hers are beautiful to see but only one stood out for me. (FYI: I'm Team Alex!)

If you want a book with a secret society and two hotties fighting for the one they love, read this book. Right from the start, the reader is captured in this world of lost loves and fighting against darkness. A brilliant and wonderful debut, Eternal Starling is the beginning of a great series to come!… (mehr)
