DEFINATELY giving this one a 5 star rating!! I couldn’t put it down. Reading it felt like i was watching an older movie called “The Stirs of Echos” Such a good storyline and amazing characters that were presented to you along the way. The secrets this girl was trying to uncover just to help someone from the past she has idea about. The scenery you picture reading BLOWS MY MIND. I have this vivid picture of what MY island would look like as I am reading this!! I LOVED IT! I LOVED everything about this book. To me, it wasn’t creepy or scary. But the suspense of wanting to know what happens is what kept me turning the page. This was my first book by S.M. Parker and I hope to read more of hers. Such a great read!!!!

I agree with the reviews that this book addresses an important subject (teenage girls being manipulated sexually, emotionally and mentally by their boyfriends) but I think the treatment of the subject is too mature for some high school libraries. For a public library, I would definitely recommend the purchase. The characters are well drawn and realistic and is the plot.

This book in a word-- Meh. I've been wanting to read this since it came out & it was supremely disappointing. I usually love books that show the dark side of love, & I think it's important for teens to know what controlling/abusive behavior looks like. But the writing was... not great. The dialogue made me cringe-- so much teen talk!! And then there was a romance to get over the bad romance, which is my ultimate NO of all NO's.
