My memory of this book is very vague but I am hoping someone can help me find it because it's driving me crazy not being able to find it
I haven't read it in a while but it has to be in the past 6ish years.
The main character is a girl
The society is faced with a king or male ruler and an intimidating army of some kind.
Every year or so someone is plucked from their home and "Sacrificed?"
although I cannot remember the reason for it.
Anyways the girl's sister is taken, and the girl knows her sister is going to die. Therefore she tries to go after her.
I remember both of the girls being skilled fighters and the main character is good with a bow.
There is some sort of bell tower in the town, and once the bell has rung after sunrise or something the person chosen (which I believe only women were chosen) would be thrown into some kind of arena or maze. Also the women "sacrificed" were always put in white. I think i remember a tiger or large cat of some kind being in the maze
I belive the main character doesn't go alone and goes with a boy best friend, with potential romance?
If you recognize this please help me out!

>1 rayna_o17: This is probably a long shot, but some of that sounds like The Hunger Games. Also has a lot similar elements to The Dark Tide (though that's a younger brother instead of sister).

You don't mention a minotaur but is it a retelling of or inspired by the story of King Minos' Labyrinth?

Several of Mary Renault's novels are retelling of Greek myths. One is about the Labyrinth, but can't remember which one and Google is not helping.
