I was wondering if anyone has been reading any good Dystopian books lately that they would like to share with everyone else. Any suggestions on what we should be reading next? Oops my bad. I just noticed the typo. I meant to say Recent Dystopian Books Read. I don't know what a Dysttoian would be.

The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins (absolutely incredible--literally, I was unable to put it down)

The Handmaid's Tale is also really good-I read it in 10th grade and really enjoyed it.

The Tripods trilogy is entertaining, but meant for middle school readers, I think. They go really quickly and held my interest though (I'm 18)

Then of course there's The Giver (4.5 stars), Gathering Blue (4), and The Messenger (3.5) by Lois Lowry. These three are all rather quick but have strong messages. All three are definitely worth reading, even though my ratings go down over the course of the trilogy.

hmm I can't think of any others at the moment, but there's a start.

I read The Road by Cormac McCarthy this year which is post-apocalyptic/dystopia and an excellent book.

I'm just about to read The handmaid's Tale.

I'm going to start Restoring Harmony and The Other Side of the Island as soon as I get a chance.

Restoring Harmony, Across the Universe, and Memento Nora are all good recent dystopian reads.
