In the midst of Allegiant & Emma. I loved Jane Eyre, I think it was the slow beginning that put me off at first, though the same thing put me off Emma, as well.

Also would be happy to be off bed rest and doing something other than reading all day.

Love, love, love Jane Eyre! And I must admit that I have to work a bit to read Austen. I enjoy her but if she weren't so HUGE, I don't think I ever would have picked her up.

Welcome back! And an excellent start, glad you loved Jane Eyre, it's brilliant. I do like Austen, but studied Emma back at high school and it's a difficult one to return to now.

I have to say that though I do read Austen I actually enjoy those books about Austen & her books more than I enjoy her actual books. Sad statement to make, eh? I will say that I enjoy her more on a reread of the books.

rainpebble: I love the books written about her! It's been hard for me to get into some of her less famous works, but Pemberly Digital is a great inspiration to keep trying. I love reading along to their adaptations.

Out of the list, Devotion of Suspect X was my favorite, and Feral Sins the biggest letdown. Devotion of Suspect X built up page by page through the entire read, and Feral Sins was just a contradiction the entire way through. A strong character who won't submit to anyone! ....who submits over and over and over again. Kitty was a stronger character in that she was aware of her submissive nature and fought to overcome it, but it wasn't an instantaneous process. Silver Wolf was...interesting. A unique take on werewolves, setting it in Rome.

I would have finished a couple more Pendergast books, but my kindle wouldn't let me download anything longer than samples. I'll have to try that again later.
